Ooooooh! A feature!

It's always SO SO exciting to hear about a feature in one of our favorite wedding magazines, Inside Weddings.  The bright colors and clean lines really allowed the flowers to shine.  This wedding was modern, fresh and straight up SUMMER!  So fun!So happy we were a part of it!

and a few close up detail shots...fabulous dahlias!

*sigh*

Design is a fickle beeyotch.
Truly.
Try planning a wedding and you'll agree wholeheartedly with me.  Just when a fabulously rustic resort wins your heart and you can't imagine getting married anywhere else, you spy gorgeous, glamorous, sparkly doo-dahs splashed across the pages of bridal magazine after bridal magazine.  What to do?  What to do?
Embrace them both!  Embrace and enhance the qualities that sold you on your venue and accent them with unexpected design elements.  It keeps things fun and interesting and most of all CURRENT.
Your guests will leave with a new understanding that crystal chandeliers BELONG in barns and rustic bouquets MUST be tied in velvet.
I adored this wedding.
vendors: amazing florals by artisan bloom, fabulous photography by Justin Hackworth, impeccable coordination by Something Blue events, sparkling chandeliers by Alpine Event Rentals, spectacular location at Sundance Resort

WINTER!

Channeling the snow gods.  I'm ready for winter!

isn't this adorable?  Don't let it fool you.  It looks easy to make but it's NOT!  I found that out the hard way when I had to make 20 of them for a divine holiday party for one of my favorite clients.  It's ok though.  They were fabulous.

So what do you put on the front door of the house hosting such a fabulous soiree?
A GIANT HANDMADE PINE SNOWFLAKE, OF COURSE!

Love it!

blog surfing

I love blogs.  Not blogging.  Blogs.  I like reading them, bouncing around on-line, gathering inspiration and new ideas.  There are SO MANY talented people...it boggles my mind...or bloggles my mind :)

Anyway, one of my favorite blogs...Snippet and Ink is a frequent blog stop of mine.  Browsing through their 'Real Weddings' I came across a lovely wedding Dayna and I worked on early this year.  I was thrilled to see it posted on Snippet and Ink.  Jen and Scott were such a beautiful couple and we were truly honored to work with them.  These images were captured by the incredibly talented Erin Kate of Erin Kate Photography.  I tell you, I work with THE MOST talented people.

for more on this wedding and the charming details, check out the feature on Snippet and Ink.  Thanks again Erin, for capturing this beautiful day!

Dedicated to my favorite Pepper

It was a cold day...and kind of a gross day, you know the type...we get a few of them in March...grey sky, annoying wind, super cold.  Even the bare trees looked a little depressed.  I skipped my latte, which possibly contributes to my 'blah' mood.  I'm longing for Spring and am no longer motivated by my super cute boot collection. We all know that time of year...it's time for a season change.  As I'm peering outside, searching for even the tiniest bit of blue sky, I first hear, then see the DHL truck rumbling down the street.  Ooh! A package!  It's from my dear friend and the incredibly talented photographer, Pepper Nix.  I knew Pepper had been working on something mysterious and fabulous but didn't know what it could be.  Pepper always has something amazing in the works.  I tore open the package and there it was...*GASP*... my very own coffee table book featuring my flowers from events we've worked on together!  It's BEAUTIFUL!!!  It's AMAZING!!!  It's FABULOUS!!! It's HUGE!!!

Thank you Pepper!  I adore my book! And it feels like Spring has sprung.
